The Home

Jason Court Care Home is a purpose-built centre and one of the first care homes to be operated by Healthcare Ireland Group, providing specialist services for adults with Mental Health and Physical Disability nursing needs. It is conveniently situated 2 miles from the Belfast city centre where shops, restaurants, community centres, and health centres can easily be accessed by public transport. The Home has 4 units with a total of 67 residents. The Peter Suite is a Physical Disability unit housing 18 residents. The Kelly and Taylor Suites are both Mental Health units that can facilitate up to 28 residents combined. There is also a Forensic Mental Health and a Brain Injury unit onsite.

The Role

You will provide engaging and wellbeing initiatives that promote the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of the residents in the Home, as well as work closely with the Wellbeing Lead in providing a schedule of individual and group activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise and outings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing, planning and delivering social, recreational and occupational activities, supporting the needs of the residents.
  • Ensure accurate, effective and timely updating of records, case files and computerised systems.
  • Communicate upcoming activities to residents, families and care teams to promote involvement.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are noted and referred to a more senior member of staff.
  • Liaise with external providers in order to widen the range of activities available.
  • Assist with monitoring the social and recreational budget.

You will need:

  • The Right to Work in the UK.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of verbal and written English.
  • Experience gained in a care environment.
  • Organised and have the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Flexible in altering the sequence of routine tasks.
  • Well-developed communication, observational and active listening skills.
